Future Rockhounds Of America (Youth Program) Showmanship
For over fifty years we have shared our excitement and knowledge of earth sciences, geology, mineralogy, paleontology (fossils), lapidary arts, and related subjects. Members represent a broad cross section of adults, juniors and families with all levels of expertise. Sharing this common interest, they enjoy the fun of collecting, studying, identifying, displaying, cutting, polishing, faceting, and sharing.
You need not have a degree in Earth Science or Geology! We have over 100 members with a variety of interests in earth sciences and lapidary arts.
Our meetings typically have a few minutes of business and announcements, followed by a guest speaker. After a short break, we catch up on any remaining announcements followed by our members' show and tell table, and door prize drawings. We also have active junior programs (see meeting times below) for 10 to 15 year olds.
To increase knowledge and popular interest in earth sciences, geology, mineralogy, paleontology (Fossils), lapidary arts, and related subjects.
We adhere to the American Federation of Mineralogical Society Code of Ethics.
